WB Signs Treat Williams for 'Everwood'

Emmy-nominated actor Treat Williams will star in The WB's pilot "Everwood" , joining several other high-profile actors on the netlet's projects for next season.

Williams will play Andrew Brown, a prominent neurosurgeon who moves his children to the small town of Everwood, Colo., after the death of his wife. He then becomes involved in a rivalry with a local doctor, while his son develops a relationship with the other doctor's daughter.

The series was created by "Dawson's Creek" executive producer Greg Berlanti.

Gregory Smith ("Kate Brasher") will play Brown's son, Ephram. Other cast members include Tom Amandes ("From the Earth to the Moon"), John Beasley ("The Gift" ) and Debra Mooney ("Domestic Disturbance" ), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Williams was nominated for an Emmy for playing Hollywood agent Mike Ovitz in the 1996 TV movie "The Late Shift." He also has a role in Woody Allen's upcoming movie, "Hollywood Ending."

In addition to Williams, The WB has signed Delta Burke and Daniel Baldwin for two of its pilot projects for next season.
